Ted Belton is a photographer based in Toronto, and the photographer behind 19/99’s model photography. Ted has a unique interest in and ability to connect with people, using his camera to capture real moments, human emotion and personality. In this conversation, Ted discusses how he came to photography, his commitment to supporting Canadian culture, and his ongoing curiosities that drive him in life.

Who I am and who I’ll beHow I approach what I do is that it has almost nothing to do with photography and it has everything to do with people, learning about the people that I photograph so I can pull out the interesting parts of them.
Ted’s work has been published in Rolling Stone, Kinfolk, The Times Magazine, Elle Decor, Behind The Blinds, Montecristo, Men’s Fashion, and S/Magazine. Included among his other clients are Rakuten Kobo, Nespresso, Anheuser-Busch, 19/99 Beauty, VDL Cosmetics, Coty, and Rimmel London.
Ted works in collaboration with 19/99 to create their campaign images, and has been a continuous support and a part of 19/99’s development.
