IN CONVERSATION WITH

Alyson

Who I am and who I’ll be
Alyson Walsh is the founder of That’s Not My Age, an author, freelance journalist and former magazine fashion editor. In this episode, Alyson tells us about why in 2008, after years in the editorial world, she started a blog that focuses on women’s style - regardless of their age, and the changes that she is working towards in removing age as a dictator of one’s style.

I feel more confident now, and I think that’s from writing about it, addressing the situation and meeting lots of likeminded women.

Alyson spent most of her career in journalism working as a magazine fashion editor, and now writes a weekly column for The Daily Telegraph called Ageless Style. Alyson has always looked at style as a form of personal self-expression, and didn’t understand why, as she got into her forties, she not being represented or spoken to the same way she had when she was in her 20s or 30s. She saw an opportunity to start a conversation for women in midlife and beyond. She created That’s Not My Age in 2008, which has come to be at the forefront of a movement that is empowering women, and encouraging them to embrace their style - regardless of age.

I don’t feel pressure to dress a certain way because of my age.
